Physical Appearance
White needle-like crystals that are slightly soluble in water, but soluble in alcohol, benzene, toluene, chloroform and other organic solvents.
Uses
Widely used in anti-rust agents, antifreezes, oil antioxidants (various lubricating oil, hydraulic oil, brake oil, transformer oil, and etc.), emulsifiers, water stabilizers, polyamides, polyester polymer materials such as ultraviolet or anti-static additives, photographic fogging agents, emulsifying mordant, PVC foam inhibitors, copper flotation agents and metal corrosion inhibitors.
It has excellent corrosion performance, can form chelates with metals, has good anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties with copper, aluminum, its alloys and other non-ferrous metals. Also has good anti-corrosion effect on silver alloy.
Anti-corrosion principles of BTA
BTA can form covalent bond and dipolar bonds with Cu atoms and form a multilayer protective film on the surface of the copper, so the copper surface does not produce any electrochemical reactions, thus have a particularly good corrosion inhibition.
